108 Ambulance Crew carried a patient for 1.5 k.m.s on a stretcher from a isolated area


Bhadrak: As many as 108 ambulance crews set an example by ferrying a patient on a stretcher from a village that was cut off due to flood waters. As per report, the 75-year-old Benudhar Basantia of Kukudigarhia village under Dhusuri police station of Dhamnagar block of Bhadrak district became ill and his family members contacted 108 ambulances. After receiving the information, the pilot, Prakash Kumar Mohanty, another pilot, Balram Jena and EMT Suresh Kumar Pradhan took a 108 ambulance and left for Kukudigarhia immediately. But due to incessant rains, the village was completely cut off due to flood waters flowing on the village roads. That’s why the ambulance was stuck about one-and-a-half kilometres away from the village. Then the 108 ambulance crews walked through the village on a stretcher and carried the patient on a stretcher for one-and-a-half kilometer with the help of villagers and took them to the ambulance. Then the patient was brought by ambulance and admitted to Bhadrak Hospital. In such an adverse situation, such humanity of the ambulance crews has definitely become an example for others.
