530 units of blood Collected in Blood Donation Camp organised at Tata Steel Kalinganagar

Kalinganagar, February 20, 2026: In a strong demonstration of community spirit and humanitarian service, a large‑scale blood donation camp was organised at the Green Transport Park of Logistics Department of Tata Steel Kalinganagar (TSK). The camp was held in association with Sambad Ama Odisha Raktadaan Abhijan, with technical support and coordination from the Odisha Blood Centre, Community Health Centre, Jajpur Road, Odisha Blood Centre, District Headquarters Hospital (DHH), Jajpur, and Red Cross Blood Bank, Cuttack.
The camp was jointly inaugurated by Soumya Ranjan Patnaik, Chairman, Eastern Media Limited & Ama Odisha and Uttam Singh, Vice President, (Operations), Tata Steel Kalinganagar, in the presence of officials from the community, Tata Steel, Sambad, Blood Bank and the supporting organisations.
The event saw an exceptional turnout, resulting in the collection of 530 units of blood. By partnering with key medical institutions, the camp ensured that every life‑saving contribution would be integrated effectively into the state’s healthcare network to serve those in critical need. During the camp, Sukumar Jena and Ajit Padhi, who have donated blood 67 and 53 times respectively, were felicitated on the occasion by the dignitaries. Apart from certificates, saplings were distributed to all the donors.
Including this camp, in this financial year Tata Steel Kalinganagar has previously organised 5 blood Donation Camps collecting a total 1644 blood units.
