The Advantages of Cloud-Based CCTV Technology

Bhubaneswar: The use of CCTV cameras has become increasingly important in both residential and commercial settings. CCTV cameras are used to monitor activities, deter crime, and provide evidence in the event of an incident. CCTV cameras have become an essential security surveillance tool for every household seeking peace of mind, day or night. We come across many instances where CCTV footage has helped solve crimes and deterred potential wrongdoers who do not want to be caught on camera.

However, traditional DVR-based (Digital Video Recorder)systems have been replaced by cloud-based systems in many instances. Cloud-based CCTV technology provides several advantages over old DVR technology. Considering the same, Airtel launched Xsafe, an advanced home surveillance solution in September 2022. This article will discuss the benefits of cloud-based CCTV technology compared to old DVR technology and how it is helping end customers and enterprises.

Different types of CCTV cameras serve different purposes, with specific designs and features needed for outdoor and indoor use. Airtel Xsafe offers Sticky Cam priced at Rs 2,499 and 360 Degree Cam priced at Rs 2,999 for indoor use, and Active Defence Cam priced at Rs 4,499 is for outdoor use. Aesthetically designed to complement your rooms, these indoor Wi-Fi cameras boast state-of-the-art features. Meanwhile, the Outdoor camera is designed to withstand extreme weather conditions, dust (IP67 rated) and have night vision upto 30 metres.

One of the most significant benefits of cloud-based CCTV technology is that it is cost-effective. With traditional DVR systems, customers had to purchase expensive hardware and maintain it regularly. With cloud-based CCTV technology, customers do not need to purchase hardware or maintain it. All they need to do is pay a monthly subscription fee to access the service. For just Rs 119 per month, Airtel Xsafe subscribers can keep their home safe with one camera and access all smart features. Opting for a yearly subscription of Rs 999 gives customers free installation and access to all smart features.

Cloud-based CCTV technology is highly scalable. Customers can easily add or remove cameras from their system, depending on their requirements. Airtel Xsafe customers can add an extra camera for Rs 89 per month or an additional camera for just Rs 699 per year. Traditional DVR systems were limited in terms of the number of cameras they could support. If customers needed to add more cameras, they would have to purchase a new DVR system, which could be expensive and time-consuming.
