Startup Odisha Yatra to reach VSSUT, Burla on Nov 10

Bhubaneswar: Startup Odisha Yatra 2.0’s which was launched by Honourable Chief Minister
Shri Naveen Patnaik to reach Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT), Burla
where a bootcamp will be organised on 10 November 2022. Dr. Omkar Rai, Executive
Chairman of Startup Odisha along with other officials will embark on a one-day visit to
experience the energy at the ground-level. Dr. Rai will be sharing valuable insights about the
effervescent startup ecosystem, motivate the student community at VSSUT, create an
environment for Make in Odisha Conclave’22 and promote the initiatives of Startup Odisha.
Startup Odisha Yatra has attracted phenomenal response from the youth and the
institutions across Odisha. Till date, the Yatra has reached out to 9000+ students and
garnered 1500+ ideas. 100+ Van Campaign have been carried out and the Bootcamps are in
full swing to fetch innovative ideas from student entrepreneurs and grassroots innovators.
The Yatra has also experienced women trailblazing innovations in every sector.At least 40-
50-% of the ideas collected till now have been women-led. Taking the Yatra to the grassroot
level, young boys and girls from remotest places of Odisha like Kandhamal, Koraput,
Nayagarh, Kalahandi, Jeypore have pitched their ideas and it’s evident to see how the
remote corners of Odisha are bustling with activity and can be the ideal starting point for a
myriad of different startups. This Yatra has given a massive boost to the entrepreneurial
spirit of youth and have cultured a wave of innovation &ideation. Startup Odisha Yatra
comprises of Van Campaigns, Idea Pitching & Bootcamps.
According to the trendsemerging out of the Yatra,it has been witnessed that students from
nook and corner of Odisha are pitching their ideas which revolve around their day-to-day
problems they face, thus giving a new ray to the horizon of innovation. The students are
showcasing a unique concoction of solving real-world problems along with keeping their
dream alive of becoming next-generation entrepreneurs. The plethora of initiatives by the
government has also ushered a hope in the lives of many to adopt entrepreneurship as their
primary goal. This is also the year for the biennial flagship event of Government of Odisha, –

Make in Odisha Conclave’22, a platform where industry captains and stakeholders
converge. At the event theoutlook of growing startup ecosystem of the state will be
discussed in various plenary sessions.The on-going Yatra is the pre-cursor event of MIO’22to
foster more investments in Odisha’s startup space.
