Case filed against power theft

Berhampur: TP Sourthen Odisha Distribution Limited (TPSODL) has initiated steps to check the unethical practice of power theft. Recently a police case has been filed against a consumer of Kabisuryanagar for unauthorised use of electricity by tampering with electric equipment and connecting his electricity line in an unauthorized way.

The concerned person had an outstanding electricity bill, for which his electric connection was disconnected before. A case has been filed in Kabisuryanagar police station against the person for violating the provisions of the Indian Electricity Act and illegally connecting the electricity to his house. TPSODL urged all of its customers to get legitimate electricity connections as it incurred huge losses due to power theft.
