CII Odisha Applauds Union Budget 2025-26, Calls It Reform-Driven and Growth-Oriented


Bhubaneswar, 01 February 2025: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Odisha State Council welcomed the Union Budget 2025-26, commending its strong emphasis on reforms, economic growth, employment generation, and support for startups and MSMEs. In the live viewing session of budget 2025-26 organized by CII where industry leaders and experts highlighted key aspects of the budget, describing it as progressive and growth driven.
Dr Pradipta Mohanty, Chairman, CII Odisha State Council, praised the budget for its inclusive approach, focusing on the welfare of all sections of society, including the poor, youth, farmers, and women. He emphasized that the budget prioritizes five domain taxation, urban development, mining, financial sector, and power & regulatory reforms along with major growth sectors agriculture, investment, MSMEs, and exports—while also offering significant tax relief.
Mr Sashi Sekhar Mohanty, Immediate Past Chairman, CII Odisha State Council, described the Modi 3.0 budget as transformative and employment focused. He underscored the government’s significant capital expenditure of over ₹10.5 lakh crore in infrastructure, as well as key reforms in the MSME and startup sectors. He added saying the initiatives will encourage industrial investment and accelerate India’s economic development.
Mr Sanjay Pattanaik, Past Chairman, CII Odisha State Council shared his views on economic empowerment, stating that a nation’s progress is fuelled by ease of doing business, access to critical minerals, and a robust middle class. He emphasized that governance fostering opportunities, enhanced connectivity, and financial reforms are key drivers of prosperity.
Mr Swayam Prakash Baral, Member, CII National Council highlighted the crucial role of MSMEs and startups in driving India’s economic trajectory. He pointed out that expanding their reach, fostering innovation, and increasing financial support not only stimulate economic growth but also generate employment and entrepreneurship, positioning India on the path to becoming a $5 trillion economy.
The CII Odisha State Council reiterated its confidence in the Union Budget’s ability to strengthen economic fundamentals, create employment, and drive sustainable growth, making it a pivotal step in India’s development journey.
