INIFD Bhubaneswar organizes Odisha Heritage Awards and NAVYATA 2022

Bhubaneswar: In order to celebrate and felicitate Odisha’s gems who have extensively contributed towards our heritage of art and design, INIFD Bhubaneswar has organised Odisha Heritage Awards and their annual fashion show and interior design exhibition NAVYATA 2022 at Hotel Swosti Premium Saturday.

Hon’ble minister of Handloom, Textile and Handicrafts, Government of Odisha Smt. Rita Sahu inaugurates the event as chief guest and Mr. Anil Khosla, Global CEO, INIFD, Mr. Pradeep Kumar Jena, IAS, MD, Odisha State Disaster Management Authority, Mr. Akash Dasnayak, Chairman, Mo College, Sulochana Das, Mayor, BMC and Padma Vibhushan Sudarshan Sahoo also graced the occasion as guest of honour.

Odisha Heritage Awards envision to honour people from diverse, vibrant and utilitarian arts and crafts of Odisha. Awards consists of various category like Akula Chndra Nandi for weaver, Sasimani Maharana for Gober Kandhei art, Kali Charan Pattnaik for Palm Leaf Engraving, Ukila Nilakantha for weaver, Ganjam Bomkai, Khageswar Mallick for cloth Patchwork, Uday Mohanty for stone carving, Sarojini Das for Bamboo craft, Diptirani Behera for Golden Grass Work, Maguni Charan Kuanr for Rod Puppet and Srikar Meher for weaver.

Odisha Heritage Awards  Jury panel of comprises of eminent Industry experts Mrs. Panchami Manoo Ukil, Founder Trustee of The DN Wisdom Tree Global School, Mr. Priyaranjan Kar, Secretary, Odisha Shilpi Mahasangha and Mrs. Dharitri Patnaik, Entrepreneur & Philanthropist.

Along with the honour, the awardees also received the right platform, networking opportunities & financial support which has extensively boosted up their confidence & love for the art & heritage of Odisha.

The fashion design students of INIFD Bhubaneswar showcased their garment collection through mesmerizing fashion show along with interior design exhibition by interior design students of INIFD Bhubaneswar students. Navyata being the annual design show of INIFD Bhubaneswar give the right platform to the budding designers to enhance their skills & creativity.
