RBI Boosts Financial Awareness at Baliyatra with Dedicated Literacy Stall

Bhubaneswar :Proper knowledge of financial management and the confidence to make correct decisions have a direct impact on the life of the common people. For this, it is very important that people are aware of the various facilities available in banks and also about various cyber fraud taking place in the present times.
With the aim of creating awareness among the general public and continuous efforts towards financial inclusion and literacy, the Reserve Bank of India, Bhubaneswar, organized a financial literacy stall at Baliyatra, Cuttack from November 5, 2025, to November 13, 2025. The Regional Director of RBI, Dr. Sarada Prasan Mohanty, inaugurated this financial awareness stall in the presence of the FIDD General Manager, Mrs. Anita Patnaik, and other senior officials of various public / private sector banks.The stall was also visited by the honourable Governor of Odisha, Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati, on 12th November 2025.
In this stall, employees of the Reserve Bank of India spread awareness on topics likevarious financial schemes, saving schemes, loans, investment, insurance, pension, digital banking, identification of counterfeit currency notes, facilities for banknote exchange, cyber fraud and grievance redressal. Along with this, in coordination with various banks, facilities for exchanging mutilated and soiled notes were provided at the stall, and the importance of financial awareness was explained to people through magic shows and digital displays. To create awareness among the general public and to make them financially literate, a skit (on stage performance) was also performed on GanakabiBaishnabaPani Mancha of the Baliyatra festival. ReserveBank of India’s initiative was highly praised by the public and the state administration.
