Tata Steel Foundation Dedicates New ‘Community Wellness Park’ to the Residents of Duburi

Duburi: Reiterating its commitment towards community development, Tata Steel Foundation dedicated a new ‘Community Wellness Park’ to the residents of Duburi under Sukinda block of Jajpur district on Thursday.

The park was inaugurated by Er Pritiranjan Gharai, Honb’le Minister of Rural Development, Skill Development & Technical Education in the presence of Mr Dibyaranjan Baral, Chairman, Sukinda Block, Mrs Bhagyalaxmi Rout, Vice-Chairperson, Sukinda Block, Mr Sadhu Charan Tiu, Zilla Parishad, Zone-38, Mrs Nirupama Das, Sarapanch, Duburi Gram-Panchayat, Mr Biswajit Das, Social activist, Mr Allen Joseph, Unit Head, Tata Steel Foundation (TSF) and other members from the community.

The park developed by TSF includes acupressure walking track, open gym, dedicated place for yoga and sitting arrangement for the visitors. The boundary wall was also constructed. The walking track is constructed with paver blocks having acupressure benefits that will help in improving blood circulation, reducing pain, maintaining blood pressure, etc. A solar based high-mast light has also been installed for accessibility and safety during evening hours.

The open gym equipment will help the visitors to improve strength, flexibility and improved cardiovascular health. The park also has some equipment for children in the park.

Apart from all these, Tata Steel Foundation has also planned to start yoga session in the park for 20 days every morning to inculcate the habit of yoga among the residents. While the park has been developed by Tata Steel Foundation, the same will be maintained by the community.

It may be noted here that Tata Steel Foundation has also created one more similar ‘Community Wellness Park’ at Trijanga under Dangadi block which was inaugurated on Wednesday.

Tata Steel Foundation has been actively involved in community infrastructure development in the region aiming at the holistic development of the people residing in and around Kalinganagar.
