~ Over 800 Tata Parivar Members participated in the celebrations

Kalinganagar, March 3, 2026: Tata Steel Kalinganagar (TSK) and Neelachal Ispat Nigam (NINL) observed the 187th birth anniversary of Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata, the esteemed founder of the Tata Group, on Tuesday at their respective facilities in Jajpur district, Odisha.

At Tata Steel Kalinganagar, the commemoration commenced with a formal parade by employees, proceeding from the Project Office to TSK Centre where senior leadership, union representatives, and employees paid homage to J N Tata, recognising his enduring legacy.

The week-long celebrations featured a series of community engagement initiatives, including a friendly football tournament and diverse sporting activities for Tata Parivar members, employees, and their families, held at Rehabilitation & Resettlement Colony and company’s housing colonies. Notably, over 800 Tata Parivar members from Gobarghati, Trijanga, and Sansailo actively participated in these events.

At Neelachal Ispat Nigam, the celebration started with tribute to J N Tata by its senior management and employees at NINL House inside the plant premises. Various sporting events were organised on the occasion for the employees.

Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata (March 3, 1839 – May 19, 1904), widely regarded as the ‘Father of Indian Industry’, is celebrated for his visionary contributions that laid the foundation for India’s steel and power industries, advanced technical education, and propelled the nation towards industrialisation.
