108 ambulance crew donates blood to pregnant women

Bolangir: 108 ambulance crew shows his humanity by donating blood to a pregnant woman during the time of distress. As per the report, a pregnant woman named Baijayanti Suna of Siskani village under Rigdul panchayat under Titlagarh block of Bolangir district was admitted at Titlagarh hospital as she felt labour pain. As her condition deteriorates, the doctor advised for immediate surgery and also asked to arrange ‘O’ positive blood. Meanwhile, the relatives of the pregnant were became helpless, as the same blood group was not available in the hospital’s blood bank.

On the other hand, 108 ambulance EMT Swarna Shekhar Tandi, Pilot, Babula Sahu and assistant, Utkal Bishi, who had come to the hospital at the same time with another patient, came to know about the patient. Fortunately, EMT Swaran Shekhar Tandi’s blood group was also O’ positive. So, without any delay, he came forward and donated a unit of ‘O’ Positive blood. After the surgery, the woman gave birth to two baby boys and the condition of both mother and the babies are fine. For his good Samaritan act he receives praise from all quarters of the society.
