Tata Steel Foundation Celebrates National Sports Day

Meramandali: Celebrating 118th birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand and with an objective to promote sports as a way of life among children and youth, Tata Steel Foundation at observed ‘National Sports Day’ at Paik Purunakote village of Dhenkanal District. To celebrate this occasion, a friendly volleyball match was organised followed by a cake cutting ceremony.

Dr Ashish Mahapatra from Medical Services Department, Tata Steel Meramandali (TSM) joined as Chief Guest and encouraged youths to keep themselves fit. He also explained them about the significance and implications of various first aid techniques which will be used during any minor accidents, snake bites, sports injuries etc. Pratap Kumar Pradhan, Sarpanch, Paik Purunakote graced on this occasion and motivated youths with his inspirational speech and felicitated the volleyball players.

Apart from this, the Administration Department of Tata Steel Meramandali had also organised Basketball and Badminton Tournament for the employees and their family members residing at TSM Housing colony on the occasion.
