3rd Hockey Association of Odisha Senior Women & Junior Men State Championship 2024 Concludes in Rourkela

• Odisha Secretariat clinches the title in the Senior Women’s category
• ⁠Rourkela steel plant crowned champions in the Junior men category

Rourkela, 26 September 2024: In the Senior Women’s category of the third edition of the Hockey Association of Odisha Senior Women State Championship 2024, Odisha Secretariat has clinched the silver after defeating Sundargarh in the penalty shootout by 2-3. While, Sports Hostel Rourkela defeated Odisha Police 4-2 in the penalty shootout to come third.

In the Junior Men’s category, Rourkela Steel Plant emerged as title winners in the third edition of the Hockey Association of Odisha Junior Men’s State Championship 2024, defeating Sundargarh by 2-0. Meanwhile, Odisha Naval Tata Hockey High Performance Centre beat Gangpur Hockey Association 3-0 and finished third.

The event was graced by dignitaries including Chief GM of RSP BK JOJO, OAS and Deputy Director, Sports and Youth Services Department Sudipta kumar Nayak, Vice President of Hockey Association of Odisha Jeevan kumar Mohanty, Secretary of Hockey Association of Odisha Sanatan Sahoo, Senior Manager of the Rourkela Steel Plant Dr Satya Narayan Mishra, Sports Officer of Rourkela Steel Plant Raghu Nandan Padi and Coach Sports Hostel Rourkela Kalu Charan Chowdhary.

Individual Awards Distribution & Respective Cheques for Senior Women:
1. Defender of the Tournament – 8,000 Rupees to Sunita Xaxa (Sports Hostel Rourkela)
2. Forward player of the Tournament – 8,000 Rupees Only to Kamla Singh (Sundargarh)
3. Mid-Fielder of the Tournament– 8,000 Rupees to Premitra Bada (Odisha Secretariate)
4. Goalkeeper of the Tournament– 8,000 Rupees to Arti Reshma Toppo (Odisha Police)
5. Player of the Tournament– 8,000 Rupees to Jiwan Kishori Toppo(Sundargarh)

Individual Awards Distribution & Respective Cheques for Junior Men:
1. Defender of the Tournament – 8,000 Rupees to Rohit N Minz (RSP)
2. Forward player of the Tournament – 8,000 Rupees  to Satish Munda (Sundargarh)
3. Mid-Fielder of the Tournament– 8,000 Rupees to   Yojin Minz (ONTHPC)
4. Goalkeeper of the Tournament– 8,000 Rupees to   Justin Kido (Gangpur Sports Association)
5. Player of the Tournament– 8,000 Rupees to  Anmol Ekka (RSP)
