TPNODL emphasizes on skill development and efficiency


Balasore 15.01.2025 – TP Northern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPNODL) a joint venture between Tata Power and Government of Odisha inaugurated a new Skill Development Center in Rahanja, Bhadrak District, as part of its ongoing commitment to enhancing the skills of its employees and local students. The center is designed to provide hands-on training for TPNODL employees, as well as Diploma and ITI students, ensuring they acquire practical knowledge to meet industry standards.

The inauguration ceremony was presided over by CEO of TPNODL, Mr. Dwijadas Basak, along with other distinguished leaders from the company. Key figures present at the event included Mr. Suresh Khetwani, Chief Corporate Safety & Environment, Tata Power, Mr. Nilesh Pothode, Chief Operations; Mr. Joydip Roy, Chief Commercial & CSR; Mr. Pradeep Mohanty, Chief Projects, Mr. Satish Mahajan, Head of Skill Development Department; and Mr. Srikant Padhi, Bhadrak Superintendent Engineer and others.

The Skill Development Center at Rahanja is set to offer advanced training to employees and ITI students, particularly in the electrician field. TPNODL is collaborating with various government-run ITIs to provide hands-on training that aligns with the growing needs of the industrial workforce. Students will gain practical skills that are highly valued by employers across various sectors, significantly improving their employability prospects.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Dwijadas Basak, CEO of TPNODL, emphasized the company’s dedication to enhancing the skill sets of local talent. “Our focus on establishing skill development centers across our operating regions is a crucial part of TPNODL’s commitment to empowering both our workforce and the wider community. In addition to Rahanja, we have already set up similar centers in Balasore, Betonati, and Joda, with plans for another one in Panikoili, Jajpur District by March this year,” said Mr. Basak.

The opening of the Rahanja center marks an important milestone in TPNODL’s broader vision to contribute to the socio-economic development of the region by fostering a skilled workforce. Through these initiatives, TPNODL is supporting the growth of industries and improving employment opportunities for local youth, particularly in technical fields.
