Bank of Baroda Supports Odisha’s MSME & Agri sectors with over ₹4,300 Crore Credit Boost


Bhubaneswar: On the occasion of World MSME Day, which is observed on June 27th every year, Bank of Baroda, one of India’s leading public sector banks, reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive growth in Odisha – with a focus on priority sectors such as MSMEs and Agriculture. In FY 2024-25, the Bank sanctioned over ₹5,000 crore under priority sector lending in Odisha. Of this, over ₹4,300 crore was extended as fresh credit to MSMEs and farmers in Odisha.

These efforts are contributing to job creation, financial inclusion, and grassroots development across the state.

Bank of Baroda offers a comprehensive range of loan schemes specifically tailored for local entrepreneurs and small businesses, including the Baroda Mahila Swavalamban, a loan scheme designed exclusively for women-led Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and Baroda Smart OD, a digital overdraft facility that offers quick and easy access to short-term working capital for GST-registered MSMEs.

In addition, the Bank is an active participant in promoting various government schemes that support local entrepreneurship efforts through schemes like Stand-Up India, PM SVANidhi, PM Vishwakarma and PM Mudra Yojana.

Bank of Baroda has an extensive presence across Odisha with a network of 202 branches, ~72% of which are located in semi-urban and rural areas. This widespread presence facilitates deeper penetration of banking services and supports the state’s financial inclusion objectives. Recently, the Bank also opened three all-women branches in Odisha. These branches, staffed entirely by women, provide greater opportunities for women employees to take on key roles as well as creates a supportive environment for women customers.
