TPWODL Augments Power Infrastructure in Sundergarh District


Burla/Sundargarh, July 05, 2025: In a continous effort to strengthen rural electrification and meet the growing energy demands of Western Odisha, TP Western Odisha Distribution Limited (TPWODL), a joint venture between Tata Power and the Government of Odisha, has successfully completed four key Distribution Transformer (DTR) augmentation projects in Sundargarh district under the Chief Minister’s Power Development Programme (CMPDP).

As part of this critical infrastructure enhancement initiative, TPWODL has upgraded four transformers from 16 KVA to 63 KVA capacity at Teliposh, Sandalki, and two locations in Kacharu village, all are under the Rajgangpur block. This targeted intervention is designed to meet the increasing power demand, improve voltage, and ensure dependable electricity supply to residents in these rural areas.

The augmentation directly benefits nearly 250 households, with significant improvements in daily living standard, supporting local development, and aligning with the government’s vision for inclusive growth through robust infrastructure at the grassroots level.

Speaking on the milestone, Mr. Parveen Verma, CEO, TPWODL, stated: “The augmentation of Distribution Transformers under the CMPDP scheme reflects TPWODL’s deep commitment to delivering quality power to every corner of Western Odisha.
