Bhubaneswar, May 27, 2024 – In a landmark event commemorating World Emergency Medicine Day, Manipal Hospital Bhubaneswar, previously known as AMRI Hospitals Bhubaneswar, announced the launch of two pioneering initiatives set to transform emergency medical care in Odisha. These initiatives are part of a series of new services aimed at elevating healthcare standards in the region.

First-of-Its-Kind Emergency Response System in Odisha

Marking a significant milestone in the state’s healthcare sector, Manipal Hospital Bhubaneswar introduced the “Manipal Advanced Response System” (MARS). This is Odisha’s first comprehensive fleet of emergency vehicles, including road ambulances, air ambulances, and bike ambulances, designed to offer an extensive range of emergency medical services.

MARS is engineered to provide critical care during the crucial “golden hour” following a medical emergency. The fleet’s advanced road ambulances are equipped with life-saving equipment such as ventilators, defibrillators, monitors, built-in ECG machines, and syringe pumps, enabling continuous patient monitoring and treatment during transport.

The Comprehensive MARS Fleet Includes:

  • Road Ambulances: Outfitted with state-of-the-art medical technology to ensure essential care during transport.
  • First Responder Bike Ambulances: Providing rapid medical assistance in urgent, time-sensitive situations.
  • Air Ambulance Services: Partnering with ICATT Air Ambulance Services Pvt. Ltd. to deliver critical care air transport for long-distance emergencies.

In addition to MARS, Manipal Hospital Bhubaneswar launched the Manipal Emergency Health Card (MEHC), enhancing accessibility to emergency care. For an annual fee of ₹4999, the MEHC offers individuals and their families prompt and personalized medical attention during critical situations, along with exclusive privileges and benefits to streamline the emergency care experience at Manipal Hospital Bhubaneswar.
