AAYU Foundation along with Ankura Hospital Bhubaneswar, 9M Fertility (a unit of Ankura), Rotary Club of Bhubaneswar Meadows & Unicharm Host Awareness Campaign Aligned with Raja Festival

Bhubaneswar : In a meaningful step toward promoting women’s health and eliminating menstrual stigma, Aayu Foundation Ankura Hospital for Women & Children, in collaboration with 9M Fertility, , Rotary Club of Bhubaneswar Meadows (ID B6036), and Unicharm, organized a community awareness programme titled “Empowering Women Through Menstrual Health” in Bhubaneswar.

The event was thoughtfully held in conjunction with Raja Festival, a culturally significant celebration in Odisha that honours womanhood, fertility, and menstruation. By aligning the programme with this festival, the organizers aimed to reinforce the importance of menstruation as a natural and dignified biological process.

The awareness camp featured an informative session on menstrual hygiene practices, followed by the distribution of Sofy sanitary napkins, made possible through the support of Unicharm. The goal was to encourage hygienic practices, break longstanding taboos, and promote confidence and health among women and adolescent girls.

Renowned obstetrician and gynaecologist Dr. Monalisa Naik from Ankura Hospital, Bhubaneswar, addressed the gathering and emphasized the role of menstrual hygiene in preventing infections and enhancing women’s well-being. She also called for a shift in societal perception—encouraging open discussions about menstruation and dismantling cultural myths.

Representatives from the Aayu Foundation, Ankura Hospital and Rotary Club of Bhubaneswar Meadows, expressed their shared commitment to community education and women’s health empowerment. The programme received enthusiastic participation from women across the community, reflecting a growing awareness and willingness to embrace informed health choices.

This initiative stands as a testament to the power of collaboration between healthcare, community service, and corporate social responsibility—working together to ensure every woman has access to safe, respectful, and empowering menstrual care
