Blood Donation Camp by Tata Steel Kalinganagar on ‘World Health Day’


~230 units of blood collected

Kalinganagar, April 7, 2025: In an effort to promote health and community spirit, Tata Steel Kalinganagar (TSK) organised a blood donation camp on Monday in celebration of ‘World Health Day’.

230 units of blood were collected in the camp that was organised by the Joint Departmental Council (JDC), Steel & Mills, TSK in association with District Headquarter Hospital, Jajpur, Odisha Red Cross Blood Bank, CHC Jajpur Road, and Red Cross Blood Bank, Cuttack at Plot 2 Auditorium, Tata Steel Kalinganagar.

The blood donation camp was inaugurated by Dr. Sujit Manohar from Odisha Blood Centre, Jajpur and Praveen V Thampi, Chief, Cold Rolling Mill, TSK in the presence of Ashutosh Kumar, Chief, Steel Melting Shop, Tata Steel Kalinganagar, Tuhin Chatterjee, Chief, Hot Strip Mill, Tata Steel Kalinganagar and Dr. Prasanta Dass, Senior Registrar, Occupational Health Services, Tata Steel Kalinganagar and other officials of Tata Steel Kalinganagar.

The participation from Tata Steel employees, contract workers, and vendor partners was overwhelming, showcasing a strong commitment to community welfare. All donors received certificates in acknowledgment of their generous contributions.

The initiative led by JDC, Steel & Mills, Tata Steel Kalinganagar aimed to bolster blood reserves and support the healthcare needs of the community. Representatives from JDC, Steel & Mills, TSK and officials of Human Resources Management Department, Tata Steel Kalinganagar were present at the camp to ensure a safe and efficient blood donation process.

This blood donation camp is part of Tata Steel Kalinganagar’s ongoing initiative to support local health services, with similar camps being organised at regular intervals. Notably, the previous blood donation camp in February had a record collection of 501 units, emphasising Tata Steel’s dedication to enhancing the region’s blood reserves and healthcare efforts.
