Govt urges stakeholders to explore real Odisha


Konark: In a bid to showcase the true essence of Odisha beyond its well-known destinations, the state government is calling upon investors and tour operators to explore enchanting locales situated 200 km away from the capital city. Daringbadi, known for its mesmerizing landscapes, promises an unparalleled experience, inviting stakeholders to become part of the authentic Odisha.

During the Business-to-Government (B2G) meeting held under the 5th Odisha Travel Bazaar 2024 at Eco Retreat, Konark, government officials emphasized the need to diversify tourism offerings. They urged investors to visit lesser-explored places, fostering a connection with the real Odisha. The government is open to suggestions, aiming to make its tourism policy more vibrant and inclusive.

To support investors, the state is undergoing significant infrastructure developments, including new airports, roads, and hotels in various parts of Odisha. This initiative is aimed at creating a robust foundation for the growth of tourism beyond the conventional destinations.

The B2G meeting saw industry leaders providing valuable suggestions on diverse tourism segments, such as MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) Tourism, wildlife tourism, and Caravan tourism. They advocated for the inclusion of these suggestions in the state’s tourism policy to enhance its overall appeal.

The interactive Industry roundtable witnessed the participation of prominent figures, including Additional Chief Secretary of Tourism, Shri Surendra Kumar, Tourism Director Sachin Ramchandra Yadav, and leaders from IHCL (Taj), Indian Convention Promotion Bureau (ICPB), Yatra, MakeMyTrip, Booking.com, and more. These key stakeholders shared insights and recommendations, contributing to the shaping of Odisha’s progressive tourism policies.

As Odisha unfolds its lesser-explored wonders, the state is poised to emerge as a multifaceted tourism destination, offering unique experiences that go beyond the familiar landscapes of Bhubaneswar and Puri.
