IIT Bhubaneswar organises Special Hindi workshop


Bhubaneswar, March 07, 2025: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar organized a special Hindi workshop during the visit of the three-member inspection team from the Ministry of Education, Government of India on 7th March 2025. The inspection team was led by Shri Jagdish Ram Pauri, Director (Official Language), accompanied by Smt. Rekha Rani, Assistant Director, and Smt. Neetu Kumari, Junior Translation Officer.

The workshop on “Official Language Policy and its Implementation” was organised by the Official Language Unit of the Institute. The keynote speaker of the workshop, Shri Jagdish Ram Pauri, delivered a detailed lecture on the importance of the Official Language Policy and its effective implementation. He emphasized that the use of official language Hindi in institutions is not just a formality, but a powerful concept that can play an equally effective role in both administration and teaching.

The workshop was chaired by Shri Bamadev Acharya, Registrar of IIT Bhubaneswar. In his motivational address, he reiterated the institute’s commitment to innovative uses of the official language and its effective implementation.

Members of the Town Official Language Implementation Committee (TOLIC), Bhubaneswar also participated actively in this workshop. The programme was conducted by Dr. Chetan, Professor-in-charge (Official Language). Shri Sambhunath Sahu, Hindi Officer (In-charge) proposed a vote of thanks. Mr. Hemant Kumar Yadav, Hindi Translator declared the programme concluded.
This workshop proved to be an important initiative towards raising awareness about the Official Language Policy and ensuring its effective implementation.
