Neelachal Iron Ore Mine celebrates World Environment Day

Koira, June 7, 2025: Tata Steel’s Neelachal Iron Ore mines celebrated World Environment Day with great enthusiasm and commitment with the theme “Together, we can beat the plastic pollution.”

The day served as a reminder of responsibility towards preserving the environment and promoting sustainability in and around our operational areas.  The event at mines was graced by presence of Rahul Kishore, Chief- Mines who attended the celebrations along with his family. He emphasised on the importance of environmental stewardship in his address, encouraging everyone to contribute actively to greener, and more sustainable practices both at work and personal lives.

To mark the occasion, a plantation drive was organised in the mine premises and nearby villages, with active participation from employees and residents. This initiative also aimed to promote community involvement in environmental conservation and awareness.

As part of our efforts to engage and inspire creativity and promote awareness among the youth, we conducted drawing and slogan competitions, both at our mines and in the surrounding villages in collaboration with Tata Steel Foundation. Children enthusiastically participated, showcasing their understanding of environmental issues through art and impactful slogans.

As a gesture of appreciation, Rahul Kishore, Chief- Mines, also distributed prizes to the dedicated workers of the Mine for their continuous efforts and outstanding contribution towards maintaining and improving the ecological standards of our operations.

The celebration was a resounding success, fostering awareness, participation, and a sense of collective responsibility towards the environment. Neelachal Iron Ore Mine remains committed to building a greener, cleaner future together.
