RG Kar rape and murder case: Shanti Hospital holds Candle light march against injustice

Cuttack : In a powerful and poignant display, a candlelight march was held on August 16 at 6:30 PM to stand in solidarity with the victim of the horrific RG Kar rape and murder case. This tragic incident, which has shocked the nation, involved the brutal sexual assault and murder of a young doctor in a Kolkata hospital, sparking widespread outrage and calls for justice across the country.

Participants, including concerned citizens, healthcare professionals, and community leaders,  joined the march in large numbers. The procession  began at Friends Colony  from the premises of Shanti memorial Hospital and proceeded through the central streets of Cuttack, as participants held candles and signs calling for justice and reform.

The march aims not only to remember the victim but also to raise awareness about the urgent need for societal change to prevent such atrocities in the future. The event seeks to bring attention to the pervasive issue of violence against women and to demand stronger protections and more rigorous enforcement of laws to ensure that such crimes are not repeated.
