TiECON 2025 concludes- CM Invites Entrepreneurs to Join Odisha’s Growth Story


Bhubaneswar: The inaugural edition of TiEcon Bhubaneswar 2025, a two-day national entrepreneurship summit of global repute, concluded today with a resounding commitment to innovation, AI-driven growth, and global collaboration. The event, hosted by TiE Bhubaneswar in association with the Government of Odisha, brought together over 500 delegates from across India, Singapore, UAE, and Sri Lanka, marking a milestone in Odisha’s journey to becoming a hub for startups, technology, and entrepreneurship. The grand closing ceremony was graced by Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi; Hon’ble Minister for Electronics & IT, Health & Family Welfare, and Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Mukesh Mahaling; Shri Vishal Kumar Dev, IAS, Principal Secretary, E&IT Department; Shri Murali Bukkapatnam, Chairman, TiE Global; Shri Ayaskanta Mohanty, President, TiE Bhubaneswar; Shri Rabindra Narayan Behera, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Mr Sujit Kumar, Rajya Sabha MP; alongside top industry leaders, global entrepreneurs, and government officials. Highlighting Odisha’s emergence as a leading innovation hub, Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi invited entrepreneurs to partner in the state’s growth journey. “Once you come here, it will feel like your second home.

Together, we can make Odisha the entrepreneurial capital of eastern India,” he said, citing the state’s leadership in sectors such as Global Capability Centres (GCCs), chip design, block chain, and AI research. He announced plans to develop Cuttack, Rourkela, Sambalpur, and Berhampur as new digital hubs, aligned with Vision Odisha 2036 and Viksit Bharat 2047. Dr. Mukesh Mahaling, Minister for Electronics & IT, Health & Family Welfare, emphasized Odisha’s pioneering role in AI adoption, being the first state with its own AI Policy and earmarking ₹25 crore for the Odisha AI Mission in the 2025–26 budget. He outlined AI applications in agriculture and healthcare, including AI-based coffee plantation monitoring in Koraput and an upcoming AI-led project to track health outcomes such as child malnutrition, Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR), and Child Mortality Rate (CMR). He also elaborated on the Odisha Semiconductor Policy and MoUs signed to establish a Fintech Centre in Bhubaneswar. Day 1 Highlights includes discussions on Odisha’s potential in blue economy, tourism, manufacturing, mining, and women entrepreneurship; launch of Voice of Entrepreneurship, TiE Women 100, and Entrepreneurship Odisha to foster innovation across all 314 blocks and nurture entrepreneurial talent in schools. On Day 2, AI Summit organized focused on AI’s role in inclusive growth, governance, and innovation, with panels on AI Policy 2025, India’s AI leadership vision, AI in entrepreneurship, data centers, skilling, and AI for public services.

The day also featured startup success stories (IG Drones, Mythica, Skyrider), an AI Masterclass by Shri Satyakam Mohanty, and a session on Yoga in Entrepreneurship by Ms. Priyanka Sinha. On this occasion, several MoUs have signed including, E&IT Department & IIT Bhubaneswar – Collaboration in research, pilot projects, tech core development, policy inputs, and innovation ecosystem building; OCAC & SFAL (Semiconductor Fabless Accelerator Lab) – Partnership to operationalize the O-CHIP Program; ESC Odisha & Hitachi MGRM – Knowledge partnership for technology collaboration and TiE Bhubaneswar & incubation centres – Strengthening startup support networks. The summit concluded with the presentation of the TiE Legend Entrepreneur, Emerging Entrepreneur, Woman Entrepreneur, Change Maker Entrepreneur, and Best Ecosystem Partner awards. Shri Ayaskanta Mohanty, President, TiE Bhubaneswar, said, “This summit has showcased Odisha’s potential and set the stage for global partnerships. The diverse participation reaffirms Bhubaneswar’s position as a vibrant innovation hub.”
