Times Health Icons – Odisha 2025 Celebrates Trailblazers in Healthcare

Bhubaneswar: In a grand celebration of Odisha’s dynamic and evolving healthcare landscape, Times Health Icons – Odisha 2025 was hosted at Vivanta, Bhubaneswar on 23rd June. Organised by The Times of India in association with Odisha Bytes, the event recognised 54 outstanding individuals and institutions for their exemplary work in advancing healthcare delivery, innovation, and patient outcomes across the state.

Now in its 7th edition in Odisha and 17th year nationally, the initiative continues to spotlight champions who are shaping the future of healthcare. This year’s gala was graced by the Hon’ble Governor of Odisha, Dr.Haribabu Kambhampati, who delivered the keynote address, highlighting the importance of accessible and equitable care, especially in rural areas. He was joined by distinguished dignitaries including Smt. Anu Garg, IAS, Dr. Ashok Mohapatra (Padma Shri), and Dr. Prasant Raghab Mohapatra from AIIMS Bhubaneswar.

A special interactive session with Health Minister Dr. Mukesh Mahaling focused on the government’s visionary steps including the launch of the Ayushman Bharat–Gopabandhu Jan Arogya scheme, expansion of diagnostic services, and recruitment of 5,000 new doctors—underscoring Odisha’s commitment to becoming a hub for quality healthcare by 2036.

The evening also featured captivating performances by renowned mentalist Narpath Raman and a special appearance by actress and humanitarian Raveena Tandon, who presented the final set of awards and applauded the efforts of healthcare warriors.

Awardees were selected through a rigorous process conducted by research partner Avance Insights, combining stakeholder perception and factual data to ensure transparency and credibility. Healthcare professionals and institutions from fields like cancer care, robotic surgery, trauma, IVF, nephrology, plastic surgery, diabetology, and emergency medicine were honoured, reflecting the depth of talent and commitment present in the state.
