TPCODL Ensures Safe and Seamless Power Supply for Rath Yatra 2025 with Robust Safety and Health Measures


Bhubaneswar, June 26, 2025:  TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL), a joint venture of Tata Power and the Government of Odisha, has undertaken extensive safety and infrastructure preparedness measures to ensure a safe and uninterrupted power supply during Rath Yatra 2025 in Puri.

With more than 800 personnel deployed round-the-clock, TPCODL has undertaken a robust safety drive for Rath Yatra 2025. The initiative includes leakage current testing, insulation painting on iron poles, DT fencing to ensure public safety. Fire extinguishers have been strategically installed at strategic locations.

The network augmentation for feeders, power & distribution transformers has also been carried out along with preventive & predictive maintenance to ensure reliable power supply through the auspicious occasion. Relay protection settings have been thoroughly tested & calibrated to avoid spurious interruptions.

To enhance public awareness and ensure safety during Rath Yatra 2025, TPCODL has rolled out a series of initiatives across Puri. These include the distribution of 1 lakh safety leaflets, continuous public announcements throughout the town and the display of safety posters and banners at prominent locations.

In addition, Nukad Nataks at the Pali Shree Mela have been planned to engage the public through street theatre. Temporary barricading and covering of exposed cables along the Grand Road have also been implemented to safeguard devotees during peak hours.

TPCODL has also deployed four Mobile Health Dispensaries (MHDs), three in Puri and one mobile unit for emergencies across its operational area. Each MHD is equipped with consultation rooms, examination beds and a dispensary counter, staffed by qualified doctors, nurses and pharmacists.
