TPWODL Brings Power Boost to Rural Regions of Bargarh District with Four New Projects

Bargarh, July 21, 2025: In a major step towards improving rural power infrastructure, TP Western Odisha Distribution Limited (TPWODL) has successfully completed four critical infrastructure augmentation projects in the remote and rural regions of Bargarh district. These projects were completed in record time, despite many challenges like difficult terrain, scattered villages, poor road access, and heavy rainfall. The projects were taken up to improve power supply for farmers and households in rural and forest-side villages. The company has spent about one crore rupees to complete these four projects.

The first two projects are the augmentation of the 11kV Banbaspali feeder from Sarandapali Chowk to Banbaspali tapping point and the construction of a new 11kV link line from Banbaspali OLIC DTR to the Mega Engineering Zone under the same feeder. Each project was completed in just a record time of 10 days. The areas are remote, and the work had to be done with manual labour due to difficult terrain. With the completion of these projects, 137 farmers under OLIC have benefited. The projects have resolved low-voltage issues and reduced power loss in the area. Residents of Banbaspali and nearby villages are now enjoying an improved electricity supply for their homes and agricultural activities.

Similarly, the third and fourth projects were augmentation of the 11 kV Krulupali feeder from Dova Primary Sub-station (PSS) to Jampali tapping point and a new link line between Jampali and Keudadar under the same feeder. This region, located near forest zones, presented additional challenges such as dense vegetation, narrow pathways, and wildlife presence. Despite these hurdles, each project was completed in just a record time of 15 days. With the completion of these projects, 196 long-pending agricultural connections have been released and a significant improvement in voltage stability in these remote areas.

Each of these projects reflects TPWODL’s unwavering commitment to strengthen Western Odisha’s rural electrical network. Speaking on this, Mr. Parveen Verma, CEO, TPWODL, said, “These projects are not just about laying lines or connecting feeders. They’re about lighting up lives, empowering farmers, and making rural Odisha stronger. TPWODL continues to invest in modernizing its infrastructure to ensure reliable, accessible, and equitable power supply across Western Odisha.”
